Tell us a little bit about yourself and Macrobucks.

On February 20th, 2007, my partner and I were sitting in a lab prior to our macroeconomics class at a local community college. The idea immediately sprung up, why not start a freebie site? We had a few new concepts that we could introduce that we had never seen yet and believed it would lead to our success. As we sat in the lab brainstorming names, we came up with our company name, MacroBucks. Macro coming from macroeconomics and bucks proceeding to emphasize that we could turn small bucks into Macro Bucks for our users! 1.5 years later, I think we've achieved our goal in providing our users with an opportunity to earn extra side income and free gifts. In fact, our most successful user has earned over $20000 in profits/gifts since our opening.

What is some of your website's greatest achievements?

I think our best achievement at MacroBucks is that we have been consistently worked on improving our sites to bring new concepts into the industry. By setting the standards many times since February 2007, we've successfully captured the attention of thousands of users. In only 1.5 years, we've shipped over $350,000 to our users, which is an incredible milestone and that number is only going to get bigger at an exponential rate.

Hello,

My name is Barb...little bit about me...I live in Nanaimo, BC, Canada and am 46 years young. I am a single mother raising three awesome children aged 20, 15 and 11. I work as a nurse and love my job, but every hour working takes me away more from my kids. So this is why I was trying to find something I could work from home, around our hectic schedule and still be the active supportive Mom I love to be.

How long have you been in the freebie industry?

I have been involved in Freebie Trading since November of 2007. I found this opportunity through Project Payday. It seemed like a wonderful idea but so confusing at first.

I see you have cashed out over 40 times according to the Traders Showoff area. So...what makes you so successful?

In November when I joined it was all so confusing and I slowly jumped in and tried it a bit. For the first few months it was slow going and I wasn’t doing much but I saw the potential. In February I decided to devote as much time as I could to this and make an honest effort to make it work. Every week got better and with the help of a few trained mentors it started to work. I now work at this on an average 30 hours a week, probably more. The last three months I have made over a grand each month and it keeps getting better. I love the challenge that trading offers me as well as the flexibility to do it when I have the time.The main thing is I have been able to cut down my work hours and spend more time with my family.

Though it has been many hours of hard work I am not quite successful doing this and it keeps getting better.The main things I concentrated on were honesty and patience. Treating every trader as I would expect to be treated. Patience here is the key, and being a nurse I have lots of it. Living in Canada and understanding how more difficult of a challenge it is for us Canadians I have devoted a lot of time training and assisting fellow Canadians. I have built a wonderful reputation on the sites that I trade on and have even become a Moderator on two of them.

What would you say to a newbie who needs motivation?

If you are looking for something to do from home to make a nice extra income then this is a great venture to try. It is not a get rich scheme but good money making opportunities are here waiting for you. I would stress highly to not try to do this on your own. Find one or two good mentors that will help you with the start up process. I have seen too many good new traders come in without a mentor, do a few trades get discouraged and quit. So find a great mentor to help you. Remember you must have a lot of patience, this is key. Nothing in life is perfect and neither is freebie trading. There are glitches and you need the patience and understanding to deal with them. You will also need this when you choose to train people and have them work for you. You will also need to be organized. Know the offers you are doing, keep track of them. Know your traders and work very closely with them, they are working for you .

Honesty, stick to your word. Freebies trading is a large world, but the closeness of the traders is strong. We all work together and you can build a very good or very bad reputation fast. Look at every person you are working with as yourself and treat them how you want to be treated. I also encourage you to get involved POSITIVELY in the forum you are a part of. There are incredible people there and a wealth of information to be had. This will also help build your reputation. Lastly don’t ever put the money first, you will then not succeed.

I went to (the) University in Hertfordshire, and took several degree courses with the open university. (My) degree's were in Computer science (various areas). In the last 3-4 years I have built up a company that is holding steady on it's plans for market domination.

As a newbie to the freebie industry explain to us your first impression of how everything works.

Downright confusing, sites i used to use that gave away free gifts, were simple you just earned points, now you have to make sure they serve your country accept X payment method and ensure you read there policys as you don't know what your signing up for other wise.

What made things a little more clear for you?

Research into the area mostly, and getting information from more than 1 source.

What advice would you give someone that is a newbie in your shoes right now?

Do your research and try to go for companies that have been used, and have a good reputation with more than a handful of people, though also don't get greedy.
